New Machine Keeps The Liver Fully Functional Outside The Body For One Week. Can You Believe This?


Human liver can be maintained metabolically active for up to 24 hours, according to current technological technologies. However, according to the "Liver4life" research group, the human liver can now be preserved outside the human body for up to one week.

On January 13, 2020, a groundbreaking study published in Nature Biotechnology produced a novel machine capable of keeping the human liver biologically functioning for one week.


This ground-breaking discovery will pave the way for increased transplant success rates and cancer patient survival rates.
