On January 23, 2020, a new study published in Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology Journal found that arterial stiffness accelerates within 1 year of the final menstrual period, with black women having greater progression in midlife compared with white women.
This study underscores the importance of periodical check on heart health of women during the menopausal transition.
