Eating Cruciferous Vegetables is Good for Your Liver

On January 17, 2020, a novel study published in the journal Hepatology found that a natural compound (called indole) normally occurs in cruciferous vegetables as well as being synthesized by gut microbes can help in improving diet-induced fatty liver.

Researchers found an inverse correlation between blood indole levels and body mass index. Lower indole levels were seen in clinically obese subjects, and linked to greater fat content in the liver.
